Construction site update for weeks 21–22
Preparations for the blasting works continue and the schedule have been further specified. According to the current estimate, the final blasting operations are scheduled for Wednesday, 27 May. The blasting works will take place in the inner courtyard area facing Kaskenkatu. The blasting operations and the removal of blasted rock material may cause temporary noise and vibrations.
– Several work phases are ongoing simultaneously across the site. During the coming weeks, the focus will be especially on the parking hall and preparations for the final blasting works, says Matti Koivu, site manager at Lujatalo.
Groundworks and foundation works are underway in the parking hall area while preparations for the final blasting works continue. Work on the foundation structures is also progressing step by step.
Demolition, plastering and sealing works are ongoing in the Tower building. In the next phase, roof timber works and HVAC works will begin.
In the renovation section of the social and health care centre, demolition of the intermediate floors continues in the blocks facing Sirkkalagatan and Kaskwnkatu. At the same time, construction of new structures is progressing in the sections where demolition works have been completed.
