Kaskia Wellbeing Block construction site – weeks 52–1
In the coming weeks, work at the Kaskia Wellbeing Block construction site will continue with piling, excavation and soil removal. Demolition work is also ongoing in the Tower Building and the old hospital building. Work will proceed as normal before Christmas and during the days between the holidays, but the site will be closed during the Christmas holidays and on New Year’s Day.
Construction of the retaining pile wall on the Kaskenkatu side will begin in week 52. Piling work may cause dust or dirt on nearby properties, and the construction site will arrange cleaning if needed.
Excavation work will resume on 2 January 2026, and blasting activities will continue in week 2. Information about blasting will be communicated via the agreed channels.
In addition, Turku Energia’s district heating excavation on Kaskenkatu affects traffic arrangements and may cause noise and disturbance to mobility in the area.
